Thanks to those community members who joined the project team and BDAC staff on 27 April 2023, at a second BIG Plans session in Melbourne, to do a virtual walk through of the New Medical Facility before the final designs were signed-off.
Community members interested in gaining a greater understanding of what the project will look like, were invited along to the virtual walkthrough.
The BIG Plans facility enables the draft plans to be projected onto a big screen, and to-scale on the floor to allow attendees to literally walk the plans and get a feel for what the final facility will look like.
The overall response from community was very positive and their time and input was highly valued by the architects and project team.
A consistent theme in the feedback from Community was that they were particularly looking forward to having access to dental services at BDAC as a result of this project.
“I loved that community members asked plenty of questions and were really honest about their expectations for the facility,” said Tonya Hinde, Lead Architect from Billard Leece Partnership who is overseeing the design.
