Highlights from the New Medical Facility Project Team’s July meeting
Detailed design approved
The detailed design for our new medical facility project was signed off by the Board on 20 July 2023.
Design documentation finalisation
The Design documentation which will serve as the basis for the tender documentation – is now being finalised by the architects, Billard Leece Partnership and Workshop Architecture.
Current stage – Tender preparation
The BDAC Infrastructure team is now preparing the tender documentation and the associated contract terms and conditions. The tender will soon be issued to selected construction companies.
Probity Advisor appointed
As this project is of significant scale, AFS Accountants have been appointed as our probity auditors to ensure transparency and accountability in all aspects of the procurement of the construction company/ builder to the project.
Ensuring Community involvement
In addition to ensuring the probity of the project, BDAC is also incorporating guidelines into the tender to ensure that the project benefits the local Aboriginal Community during the construction. Our procurement process reflects BDAC’s values and prioritises the use of local and Aboriginal employees, trainees, contractors and suppliers wherever feasible.
